At Hooligan, our puppies are a very important part of our family. Each litter is carefully planned with the goal of producing mentally & physically sound, correct IWSs. Our dogs are tested for hips, elbows, thyroid, eyes & von Willebrand’s disease prior to breeding.

We firmly believe that a solid foundation is fundamental to the upbringing of our pups. Our puppies are raised in our home where they are extensively handled & socialized. Hard work & dedication goes into each puppy. Like our dogs, our puppies are weaned onto a raw diet. We feel strongly about the potential damage that annual vaccinations & many commercial dog foods can cause our pets, so we prefer that, whenever possible, our puppies go to holistically oriented homes. If you are unsure of how to begin, please let us know & we’ll be very happy to guide you. We promise to give you as much support as you need in raising your IWS holistically, as their good health & well-being are our primary concerns. We never breed just to breed. We only breed to add to our own family & to do our best to improve & strengthen the Irish Water Spaniel breed. We interview all prospective buyers thoroughly to help match new owners with the right puppy for their lifestyle. Puppies are placed after appropriate health checks have been completed. All companion puppies are sold on limited registration. We encourage all of our puppy buyers to pursue a range of activities with their IWS to showcase & provide an outlet for the dogs’ natural talents, drive & intelligence. Show prospects are sold by private treaty. Especially with people who are new to the breed, in most cases, we prefer to remain on the registration as co-owner of these show pups to help mentor & provide guidance.

If at ANY point you can no longer keep your Hooligan puppy/dog, please contact us first! We will provide the dog with a loving home until a new “forever” home can be found. A dog bred by us always has a home at Hooligan.

If you would like to inquire about an upcoming litter, please complete our puppy questionnaire first. Puppies will not be sold to people living in jurisdictions where MANDATORY juvenile sterilization has been adopted as law. Juvenile sterilization is not healthy for the physical & emotional development of any dog, especially a slow-to-mature Irish Water Spaniel.
